Four of us from our family traveled to Ohio for our daughter's wedding in Cleveland and stayed at The Residence Inn Independence for 2 nights. I've never been more disappointed in a Marriot property. The room was a 2 bedroom suite. The bathrooms were very small and not clean. There was grime around the doorknob of one bathroom and the floors were not clean. Everything felt damp-the floors, the towels, and the carpets. The furniture was dingy. There was no ironing board-thankfully I had brought my own steamer. I found an old energy drink bottle in the drawer. You could see wipe marks on the bedside tables. It just looked like the place had not been properly cleaned in a long time. To make things worse, when we returned home from the wedding, there was a pile of vomit on the ground outside our door under the stairwell. It was still there when we checked out the next day. When I alerted the front desk about my disappointment she was apologetic and said they would "add points" to our account. That's really not an encouragement to us I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will seriously hesitate before staying in a Marriot property in the future.

Extremely clean!! The front desk lady (I can't remember her name) was exceedingly kind, friendly and helpful!! She absolutely went above and beyond to ensure my mother and I had a comfortable stay!! She worked both Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th. She is a gem. The entire property was safe, clean and comfortable!! We would absolutely book here again on our next trip!!
